Description

The beginning of Emergence Day
The Locust Horde erupts from beneath the surface and throws humanity’s world into chaos. Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago must survive the new threat as a war begins that will shape the events of the entire series.


Single-player and co-op campaign
The story campaign can be played solo, with two players in split-screen on console, or online with up to four players. Co-op lets players fight through battles together as a unified team.


A darker enemy
The redesigned Locust are more dangerous than before, joined by new creatures and major enemies. The visual style and sound design emphasise the horror of Emergence Day and the tension of facing an unknown enemy.


Updated cover-based combat
The series’ signature cover mechanics return alongside smoother movement and more varied ways to navigate environments. Familiar weapons are joined by new tools designed for close-quarters combat.


Horde Siege
Horde Siege expands on Gears’ signature co-operative survival gameplay. Players must withstand increasingly powerful waves of enemies across a larger PvE battlefield.


Versus PvP
Competitive Versus mode introduces new maps and updated four-versus-four game modes. Online modes support parties of up to four players.


Unreal Engine 5
The new technical foundation supports detailed environments, modern lighting effects and smooth action. On supported hardware, both the campaign and multiplayer run at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second.
